Imagine also the high costs of medical services, treatments and medicines. Without insurance, you have to shell out from your pocket the whole payment. There are different levels to this type of policy. However, a typical health plan will cover basic surgery expenses, treatment, dental care, specialized treatment and emergency medical facilities. The levels will determine the insurance premium to be paid. These are

* Family * Subscriber and Spouse + Separate Child Only * Subscriber (Wife) and Child + Separate Single Adult (Husband) * Subscriber (Husband) and Child + Separate Single Adult (Wife)

There are two broad types of family insurance policies. These are the indemnity and managed care plan. In managed care plan, the insurance company provides a list of doctors and hospitals. The insured person can only choose from that list. One of the benefits of this plan is that the insurance company will pay medical bills directly to the doctor or hospital.

In indemnity plan, the insured person has more choices because he can choose the hospital and doctors. But he needs to pay medical bills for every visit to the doctor or hospital while the insurance company will reimburse the amount after.
