Secrets of the Internet Marketing Silver Bullet

By Tim Wright

The search for an internet marketing "silver bullet" is a journey that is filled with a long line of challenges that most people don't realize when they first get started. The road is a confusing series of twists and turns and anyone who ventures forward has to make their way through a vanity fair of scam artists trying to sell you their latest worry-free money-making wonder widget with the idea of separating you and the contents of your wallet. Navigating through this unscrupulous maze is often enough to make the most staunch of online adventurers to give up the chase altogether.

So what keeps us going and what are we really hoping to find?

I did a recent survey where I polled a list of 3000 internet marketers and asked them to list the main things they look for when considering a new program or online business opportunity. The responses I received were very telling about the most people have while working online.

The top response to the survey shouldn't be much of a surprise, but it is amazing how many times this fundamental element is missing in internet promotions. When this ingredient is present, the rest of the journey is relatively easy. When it's not there, however, it's virtually impossible to be successful. The number one thing that most people are looking for is honesty.

Most people who are actively trying to earn money on the internet have been the victim of at least one scam. The vendor promises something that they simply don't (or can't) deliver. They are often masters of deceit and deception and through their skills at copywriting and hypnotic persuasion techniques, they convince people to open their wallets and enter their credit card information into a form. In return they often receive a glop of worthless, rehashed cyber-goo or a convoluted manual that offers a series of advanced strategies without providing a clue on how to actually do them.

When someone is thinking about ordering your product or joining your business opportunity, the most important thing that they are concerned about is whether or not you are honest. In some cases, people are almost half-way expecting your offer to be a some sort of scam. The reality is that even though you are honest and would never even dream of doing anything unethical, it is absolutely imperative that you demonstrate to people that you are honest and that you can be trusted. If you are unable to do this, the majority of people will simply not do business with you.

The second highest response from the survey was that people are looking for someone who will actively help them and answer questions if they have them. This doesn't mean that you have to pick up the phone and talk with every prospect, but it does mean that you need to have a good system of communication in place where people can give and receive feedback with a real human being on the other end. Investing in a solid "support desk" software program can be hugely beneficial for both you and your customers.

The main thing is that your prospect wants to be treated with respect. Many of us forget what it was like when we first got started working on the internet. We forget that a lot of new folks don't yet know some of the things that we now take for granted. Because of this, we frequently use words or talk about doing things that are completely unknown and often bewildering to the prospect just getting started online. It is extremely valuable to people to have someone who is willing to help them out.

If you can demonstrate that you are honest and can provide real help to those who purchase your product or join your opportunity, your online business will quickly skyrocket to success. These fundamental attributes are sadly missing within the ranks of online marketing, but when they appear, they consistently attract loyal followers who will join you in building your business. It is one of the best ways to build long-term success online. - 29969
